Uniting communities through food
Food has a way of bringing people together. It gives us an opportunity to share our cultural heritage with others and—when fresh and whole—promotes better health. When grown and prepared collectively, it also forges social connections. It’s not surprising, then, that we are seeing an upsurge in community gardens, farmers markets and urban farming. Here’s a look at how some organizations in the NeighborWorks network are uniting residents through food.
